Boy fatally hit by a car while walking to school in Teesdale, Victoria

A boy has died in a hit-and-run while walking to school in a small town in Victoria. 

The boy was hit just after 8am on Bannockburn-Shelford Road in Teesdale, near Geelong, and died at the scene despite the efforts of emergency services. 

The female driver left the scene but police later to a nearby home. 

Officers are now interviewing the woman as part of their investigation.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have attended the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage has been asked to contact CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000. 

The death marks the 68th life lost on Victorian roads in 2025 – three less than the same time last year.
